Why can’t I swipe between apps on Mac?

The dashboard is a screen to the left of Desktop 1. Swipe the other direction for Desktop 2 or other full screen apps. Use two fingers to swipe left or right. Check the settings in System Preferences > Mouse > More Gestures tab > check Swipe between full screen apps.
