Is RTX 3060 future proof?

YES. RTX 3060 is the minimum requirement now, to play games at 4K60FPS (unless you game is optimized well enough). A 1660Ti nearly runs most games at 4K60FPS, but a 2060 is probably fine. For 1440p, you can both game at 60Hz and 144Hz, even 165Hz, if you have an i7 10700 or 3700X or a 5600X.
