How do you play a woodie in don’t starve?

There are three ways for woodie to transform: He can eat two monster foods which will induce a random transformation, he can now craft kitchy moose/goose/beaver idols which can be consumed and allow him to transform into their respective wereform, and finally he still transforms into a random wereform during full moon.
