Learn how to check your Android version. Change the phone number associated with the Messages app: Open the Messages app. Tap More Settings Advanced….Only way to resolve is to:

1. Force stop Messages + Clear Cache.
2. Force stop Carrier Services + Clear Data + Clear Cache.
3. Go back into messages and setup chat features again.
