Can you play Borderlands 2 modded multiplayer?

I’m planning on playing Borderlands 2 with my friends, was wondering if its allowed if I’m planning to play online with them. The mod seems promising as well. Yeah you can. Everyone needs to have it and activate it though, especially the host IIRC.
