How far away should an ultrawide monitor be?

You must keep a monitor at a minimum of 28 inches away so your ciliary muscles are not locked into close vision which can cause eyestrain rather quickly. Sitting straight in front of the screen you should be able to see the whole screen in your field of view without having to turn your head.
